This cozy yet vibrant restaurant invites diners to experience the unique culinary fusion that defines their menu, where every dish bursts with bold, comforting flavors that leave a lasting impression.
Specializing in both Mexican and hamburger classics, La Cocina de Casillas is beloved for its signature Burger House and the unforgettable Burger Olé. But it’s their traditional Mexican offerings that truly shine, with highlights like the Green Chile Burro Enchilada Style and the Red Chili Burger bringing a fiery, flavorful kick that has earned a loyal following. The menu reads like a celebration of Mexican staples—enchiladas, tostadas, tamales, and rellenos—each prepared with a house-made touch and smothered in vibrant green or red chile sauces that deliver warmth and depth with every bite.
Diners rave about the Green Chile Burger and the comforting Bean and Cheese Burrito, all paired perfectly with crispy French Fries or buttery, fresh-made chips and house salsa that awaken the palate. Breakfast fans will appreciate the hearty Breakfast Burrito—a satisfying way to start the day—while those looking for a full meal can’t go wrong with plates like the Chicken Taco Plate or the Chili Cheese Dog. La Cocina de Casillas masterfully balances familiar favorites with authentic regional tastes, creating a menu that caters to every craving.
The atmosphere reflects the straightforward, no-frills charm customers love. Reviews call it a “clean hole in the wall” where you aren’t distracted by fancy décor, just focused on what matters most—the food. The family-owned and operated vibe shines through in both the warm, friendly service and the community-driven spirit that pulls locals back time and again. As one guest describes, locals flood in for breakfast, illustrating just how much La Cocina de Casillas feels like a treasured neighborhood gem.
True food lovers will appreciate the layers of flavor in every dish—from the richness of smothered green chile enchiladas to the crispy, cheesy goodness of a Cheese Crisp or a hearty Meat Burro. Coffee lovers can also sip on a fresh cup while soaking in the welcoming ambiance. While some dishes, like the shredded beef taco, may challenge traditional expectations, the overall experience is one of bold tastes, generous portions, and authentic Mexican-American heritage.
Whether you’re fueling up for an adventurous day in the White Mountains or seeking a satisfying meal packed with southwest character, La Cocina de Casillas offers a comforting, flavor-packed retreat that feels like a culinary hug from Arizona itself. With excellent value, distinctive dishes, and a genuine connection to its customers, this is a dining destination you’ll remember long after your plate is cleared.
Burger House is an icon of Miami AZ, Gila County, and Arizona! Whenever we head up to the White Mountains from the Valley of the Sun, we plan on stopping for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Burger House. Their food is excellent and the value is amazing! They’re especially well known for their Green and Red Chile burritos and almost everything else on their menu smothered in green or red chile. We love green and red mix burritos which have beans in them along with green Chile pork and cheese or red Chile beef and cheese. A few things you should try smothered in Chile besides the burritos are the burgers, fries, and enchiladas. If you’re feeling adventurous, ask for a fried egg on top of whatever smothered plate you’ve ordered. The delicious, oozy, yolk is a perfect compliment to the chile. Try an order of buttered tortilla chips with the house salsa too. It’s a wonderful starter. If you’re short on time, call ahead and place an order for pick up. If you have time to dine in, be sure and ask them to smother your burrito, burger, fries, or enchiladas with your favorite chile or both (Christmas Style) as it won’t come that way unless you ask. Some of my favorite items are: Green Chile mix burrito smothered in chile (beans) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Red Chile mix burrito smothered in chile (beans) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Red Chile burrito smothered in chile (no beans) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Red Chile burrito smothered in chile (no beans) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Burger smothered in chile ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fries smothered in chile ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Enchiladas smothered in chile ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chile Relleno smothered in Chile ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hot buttered chips and house salsa ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My guide on how I use the 5 star system: ⭐ = Not good ⭐⭐ = Not terrible, but would not get again ⭐⭐⭐ = Solid, but I’d try something else before this again ⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Really liked it! If you see a .3 or .7 it means: .3 = Wasn’t as good the 2nd or last time I tried it .7 = This was better the 2nd or last time I tried it.
The red chili burritos here are the best. Although I wish they would put lettuce and tomato in it by default. It makes it taste even more great and its able to last longer if you take it home! The service here is very friendly and it is also family owned/ran too!
Standard clean hole in the wall place. That's the whole vibe. You don't need to be distracted by atmosphere when the food is bomb. After 10 years of surviving on TexMex, we're moving to AZ. Along the way, we stopped for gas and my husband asked inside where to get breakfast. He was thinking Mickey D's but the lady told him to go across the street for a green chile burro. Green chile pork is one of my favorite foods in life. I ended up ordering a Tony Especial breakfast burro Christmas style with red and green chile. Im not lying when I say the first bite brought a tear to my eye. Absolutely delicious!!! I actually saved it on my GPS so I can find my way back here one day. Also, the guys cooking and especially the lady at the counter were sooooo friendly and nice. Love it! This place is a true gem.
Their green chile is probably the best in the state. It was phenomenal. However, the shredded beef taco was disgusting. It was not shredded like you would normally see in Mexican food. It was like a beef paste, like you see in the tacos at Jack-in-the-Box. I will definitely be back, but they can keep those tacos.
While traveling through Globe Az we spotted the Mexican restaurant so we just had to stop for a burrito . The food was good and the prices were not bad. They have breakfast plates and all the locals were coming in for breakfast. The staff were very nice and helpful. You need to try there green burritos.
The service was excellent and the food was great! We ordered the Burger Ole it was alot of food but tasty!!
